Ordered street tacos and a kalua papusa for dine in. Spacious outdoor seating with indoor dining area. Service was kind and not too busy for a weekend! Worth it to support local pop-ups!
Delicious pupusas with an amazing and unique flavor profile! The owner mixes Hawaiian and Latin flavors so seamlessly, it's like they were meant to be together! The salsas she offers are a mix of sweet and spicy and help enhance and blend the flavors. I tried them when they were a pop up and now they have a dedicated storefront in Union City, well deserved They are in collaboration with the Birdhaus beer garden so you can always pair your food with some delicious beverages and make a night of it!
The pork is to die for. The cheese stretch on the Pupusas's is picture perfect. the staff is super friendly. This place is just a vibe Definitely gonna be my new go to
The food here is amazing! They have a physical location at Birdhaus for a few months, and it's highly worth your time to stop by. I popped in just to try out a new place, and I already know I'll be coming back. The kalua pork quesataco is incredible. Unlike most kalua pork dishes I've had at other places, this pork was tender, juicy, flavorful. It's 100% a must-try!
Really charming place with fantastic food and very friendly service. The Latin-Pacific food fusion is perfectly balanced . The pupusas are flavorful and the curtido is to die for. The nachos were cheesy and full of taste. Highly recommended! Don't miss this spot, I think we have found our place for pupusas, tacos and nachos.
Trace has always and is still making the best fusion dishes. I haven't tried anything I didn't like. And now Mamas Papas is inside cooking in the Birdhaus kitchen. They're doing big thangs. Get out here and check them out!

Mama's Papas pops up every Sunday 11:30-4:30 @Birdhaus. Their station located at the right of the entrance. A standing sign shows the menu. Offerings (Latino Fusion): fusion pupusas, crispy quesatacos, pupusa bombs, island sliders, fries. Ordered. Pd. Food ready in 10ish minutes. Bites: Hawaianas (Kalua Pork & Cheese) with pineapple curtido (6) -masa crust moist not firm as traditional pupusas. Kalua pork vibrant, juicy. cheese melty bland. Crust breaks easily, melting away as a feature, revealing bold flavas within. Jalepeno & Queso with pineapple curtido (6) jalepeno spiceness shone thru "thin" pupusa transparency. Queso bland. Curtido complimented Not overpowering pupusa. Pineapple bits & flava very subtle. 4.5 stars delightful pupusas. Both had same flava profile. Should have skipped jalepeno one & ordered a quesataco. Only decor was the hanging signage in the background. Prompt, courteous, efficient service. Bites individually cooked to order.
Great food, friendly owner, fast service, elegantly simple ambiance. Now that all the recommended topics have been fulfilled, let's chat food. Omfg the food is bomb! The pupusas were packed with flavor and full of meat. My wife even loved the pupusa the next day. The pickled veggies (which makes or breaks the pupusa) was so delicious, I wish I could buy it in a jar and bring it home with me. I'd tuck it in so safely in my trunk and carefully place it into my fridge at eye level so I never forget I have it. I'd fight off the fridge intruders that will surely see the jar and ask for a taste, heck no! damn kids... Give this place a go and try it out. The owner is super friendly and grew up in the islands so she has that Kalua pork on lock. Highly recommended!
we ordered papas rellenas (fried potato balls) with chicken adobo, queso&jalapeno pupusas, and plantain chips. Everything we ordered was incredibly delicious, and we even went back to place another order but they were sold out of the fried potato balls by then. I really have to stress that the fried potato balls were especially noteworthy, and the pupusas are to die for. Could not recommend this pop up more!! All of the food is excellently made, you will not be disappointed. If you see this pop up near you, VISIT!!
